In dark matter direct detection experiments, neutron is a serious source of background, which can mimic the dark matter-nucleus scattering signals. In this paper,we present an improved evaluation of the neutron background in the PandaX-II dark matter experiment by a novel approach.Instead of fully relying on the Monte Carlo simulation, the overall neutron background is determined from the neutron-induced high energy signals in the data.In addition, the probability of producing a dark-matter-like background per neutron is evaluated with a complete Monte Carlo generator, where the correlated emission of neutron(s)andγ(s)in the(α,n)reactions and spontaneous fissions is taken into consideration. With this method, the neutron backgrounds in the Run 9(26-ton-day)and Run 10(28-ton-day)data sets of PandaX-II are estimated to be(0.66±0.24)and(0.47±0.25)events,respectively. 相似文献
We present a model for tail wavelets, a phenomenon known as "echo" in the literature. The tail wavelet may appear in signal reconnaissances in the merger of binary compact objects, including black holes and neutron stars. We show that the dark matter surrounding the compact objects lead to a speculated tail wavelet following the main gravitational wave(GW). We demonstrate that the radiation pressure of the main wave is fully capable of pushing away the surrounding matter to some altitude, and splashing down of the matter excites the tail wavelet after ringing down of the main wave. We illustrate this concept in a simplified model, where numerical estimations are conducted on the specific distribution of dark matter outside the black hole horizon and the threshold values in accordance with observations. We study the full back reaction of the surrounding dark matter to the metric and find that the effect on to the tail wavelets is insignificant. We reveal the fine difference between the tail wavelets of a dressed and a bare black hole. We demonstrate that the tail wavelet can appear as a natural phenomenon in the frame of general relativity, without invoking modified gravities or quantum effects. 相似文献
Molecular or supramolecular level photoluminescence (PL) modulation combining chemical and photonic input/output signals together in an integrated system can provide potential high-density data memorizing and process functions intended for miniaturized devices and machines. Herein, a PL-responsive supramolecular coordination cage has been demonstrated for complex interactions with redox-active guests. PL signals of the cage can be switched and modulated by adding or retracting Fc derivatives or converting TTF into different oxidation states through chemical or photochemical pathways. As a result, reversible or stepwise PL responses are displayed by these host–guest systems because of the occurrence of photoinduced electron-transfer (PET) or fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FREnT) processes, providing unique nanodevice models bearing off/on logic gates or memristor-like sequential memory and Boolean operation functions. 相似文献
Water-soluble triplet sensitizer with permethyl-β-cyclodextrin(PMCD) grafting on a Schiff-base Pt(Ⅱ)complex(Pt-2),in which PMCD unit serves as a host for binding the acceptors and the Schiff-base Pt(Ⅱ)complex serves as a triplet sensitizer, was synthesized to investigate the effect of supramolecular complexation and assembly on the triplet-triplet annihilation upconversion emission in water.9,10-Diphenylanthracence(DPA) carboxylate(A-1) and its dimer(A-2) in which two DPA carboxylate were covalently linked with an alkyl chain were synthesized as triplet acceptors which also play a role of guest molecules for PMCD.A-1 and A-2 showed high affinity with PMCD,and A-2 can readily aggregate in water and form micron sized assemblies due to the hydrophobic effect and π-π stacking of anthracene core in A-2.The efficiency of TTA-UC was demonstrated to be enhanced by a synergistic effect of host-guest complexation of Pt-2 with A-2 and the self-aggregation of the acceptor A-2,which facilitated the energy transfer and energy fusion among donor and acceptor. 相似文献
In this paper, a single reaction-diffusion population model with memory effect and the heterogeneity of the environment, equipped with the Neumann boundary, is considered. The global existence of a spatial nonhomogeneous steady state is proved by the method of super and subsolutions, which is linearly stable for relatively small memory-induced diffusion. However, after the memory-induced diffusion rate exceeding a critical value, spatial inhomogeneous periodic solution can be generated through Hopf bifurcation, if the integral of intrinsic growth rate over the domain is negative. Such phenomenon will never happen, if only memory-induced diffusion or spatially heterogeneity is presented, and therefore must be induced by their joint effects. This indicates that the memory-induced diffusion will bring about spatial-temporal patterns in the overall hostile environment. When the integral of intrinsic growth rate over the domain is positive, it turns out that the steady state is still linearly stable. Finally, the possible dynamics of the model is also discussed, if the boundary condition is replaced by Dirichlet condition.
The self-assembly of inorganic nanoparticles into well-ordered structures in the absence of solvents is generally hindered by van der Waals forces, leading to random aggregates between them. To address the problem, we functionalized rigid rare-earth (RE) nanoparticles with a layer of flexible polymers by electrostatic complexation. Consequently, an ordered and solvent-free liquid crystal (LC) state of RE nanoparticles was realized. The RE nanomaterials including nanospheres, nanorods, nanodiscs, microprisms, and nanowires all show a typical nematic LC phase with one-dimensional orientational order, while their microstructures strongly depend on the particles’ shape and size. Interestingly, the solvent-free thermotropic LCs possess an extremely wide temperature range from −40 °C to 200 °C. The intrinsic ordering and fluidity endow anisotropic luminescence properties in the system of shearing-aligned RE LCs, offering potential applications in anisotropic optical micro-devices. 相似文献
A novel PtSnNa/ZSM-5 monolithic catalyst was designed and synthesized for the propane dehydrogenation reaction, which was a significant transformation in industry. Experimental results showed that although the propane conversion and the propylene selectivity gradually fell down along with the reaction time, the descent speed of the PtSnNa/ZSM-5 monolithic catalyst was slower than that of the granule catalyst and the propane conversion and propylene selectivity of the reaction with monolithic catalyst still remained at a high level after 12 hr. The monolithic catalyst had regular pore structure that facilitated the separation of the product from the catalyst and reduced the limitation on internal and external diffusion and mass transfer, and led to the high catalytic activity and stability. The catalyst could be easily fabricated and was of highly industrial application potential. 相似文献
